Oman E-Invoicing Guide
Oman VAT Invoice Requirements in the Fawtara Era
Fawtara does not remove the need for correct VAT invoices. It adds a structured electronic layer so invoice data can be validated and exchanged automatically.
Business information still matters
Seller and buyer identities, VAT information, invoice number/date, items/services, quantities, prices, VAT treatment and totals remain fundamental.
Fawtara adds structured data
The Oman PINT model also defines electronic identifiers, document types, mandatory/conditional fields and machine-readable syntax used by software.
For SMEs
The easiest approach is to maintain good customer/product masters and let the invoicing software decide which additional fields are needed for each transaction type.
Do not treat a visually correct PDF as proof that the underlying structured e-invoice is valid.
