Peppol — Explained for Business Owners

Peppol is not accounting software. It is a standardized network and technical framework used to exchange electronic business documents securely.

Think of it as: a secure delivery network for electronic invoices.

Why is it part of Fawtara?

Businesses connect through accredited service providers / Access Points that exchange documents using Peppol standards.

Do I configure it myself?

Normally no. Your software and service provider should manage the technical connection.

Does Peppol store invoices?

OTA says Peppol does not store documents; they are transmitted between Access Points. Taxpayers remain responsible for storage and archiving.
