B2C means a business selling directly to an ordinary consumer rather than another VAT-registered business.

Examples

A restaurant bill, a retail purchase, a phone repair paid by an individual, or a supermarket sale are common B2C examples.

The customer can still receive a human-readable invoice. The business system handles the required electronic reporting process in the background.

B2C rules can differ from B2B rules. Always design POS and invoicing software to identify the transaction type correctly.
