Muscat has a fair share of amusement parks
to fully engage the little ones. The most popular is Funworld
at Qurum, which is easily identifiable by its brightly lit
ferris wheel. This is built on the lines of a traditional
fairground with Carousels, Rides, Games, Snack bars and
Bouncing castles.
Next to Funworld is the Rose Garden also known as the Qurum
Natural Park. This spot is ideal for a lazy evening out when
you can stroll along the walkways and just take in the
scenery. A Reptile and Bird park has recently been opened and
is another attraction. Be sure not to miss the waterfalls.
Located just before the Muttrah Corniche is Riyam Park,
another favourite spot for children with many rides. Across
from Riyam, is Kalbooh Park built fronting a sea inlet. This
is ideal for brisk evening walks while the children could have
fun on the swings and slides.
Closer to the Airport is Naseem Gardens, another well laid out
park offering rides. A little further down is the newly opened
Seeb Aqua Park, which is thoroughly enjoyable during the hot
summer months.
Further down from the Oman Exhibition Centre is The Go-Kart
track. Children and adults can have a really great time here.
Throughout the city there are the Sindbad Amusement Parks
which offer games, Rides and plenty of fun. Check out the one
behind Spinneys' supermarket, which is especially built for
children under the age of five years.
Game Arcades.
Muscat has plenty to offer as far as Game Arcades go. Most
Shopping Malls have one or more. Look out for the ones at Al
Shatti Plaza in the plush suburb of Shatti al Qurum, at the
CCC or Capital Commercial Complex, Al Harthy complex or the
one in O.C. Centre near the Ruwi roundabout. |
